Project Background
The Brazilian customer operates a coil service base inside a major seaport area and handles imported coils from several international mills. Vessels tend to arrive in waves, so they have to process a large volume of coils in a very short time to avoid demurrage and warehouse congestion. Previously, coils were unloaded at the port, stored, then transported to an inland facility for cutting and trimming, and finally brought back toward end users—adding multiple handling steps and unpredictable delays.

Their existing CTL equipment also lacked integrated edge trimming and could not maintain stable productivity during peak periods. For stainless and coated coils in particular, quality-sensitive customers were pushing for better edge conditions, flatter sheets and more reliable delivery schedules directly from the port.

Key Configuration & Parameters
We delivered a 0.3–3.0 mm × 1850 mm line with 6-HI leveling, flying shear and online edge trimming, integrated with an automatic stacking system. The line is optimized for one-stop processing—unloading, leveling, edge trimming, cutting and packing—inside the port warehouse.

Customer Benefits & Feedback
Now, coils can be processed and shipped directly from the port without additional transport or subcontracting. Even in peak seasons, the center maintains high daily tonnage and faster turnaround for traders. The customer confirms this line has clearly strengthened their competitiveness as a port-based coil service center and allowed them to capture more high-margin processing work.
